It's a blessing to see a passion for capturing moments become a commercial offering for Menges Design.
But this time, it's personal, to honor my Dad. These photos were taken May 2017 in D.C., where Dad was honored as a veteran.
When asked to photograph client stories, the request often references my personal photos: high contrast, grain-riddled images, shot in natural light. This stark, street style approach is less about style for me, and more a personal response to the gnawing truth that our time on this big marble is finite. Moments matter, and each captured moment honors time—and most importantly, the people within.
In D.C., only one moment was captured in color, after a USO volunteer in a 1940s dress kissed Dad on the cheek (the last photo below).
